Problems with CPU/Memory AM5

thumbnail_IMG_1625.jpg

Hi

Got an MSI Gaming Plus Wifi and Ryzen 5 7600 and Kingston Fury 32GB (according to the MSI website they are compatible). Regardless of how I put the memory, the computer worked only with a capsule on DIMMB2, at all other variants the Red and Yellow led were lit (it didn't matter which of the capsules I put in DIMMB2). Found no bent pins but with the CPU appeared to have a defect (see picture). I could not find anyone writing about it, is this something that is common and can produce the same consequences that are described.

If it is a known problem what has caused the error. Is it during manufacture or could it have occurred afterwards? I don't remember having any sharp objects or dropping the CPU

I suggest you open a AMD SUPPORT - Warranty ticket and upload the above image to them and see if they believe it is damaged and will honor the AMD Warranty unless you can't prove it wasn't due to Customer Error which will automatically void your AMD Warranty from here: https://www.amd.com/en/forms/contact-us/support.html

Note: it does look like the CPU is damaged in several of the processor's contacts.  You will need to prove to AMD SUPPORT that you received the processor in that state when delivered otherwise the warranty may not be honored.

I would also upload a photo of your Motherboard's CPU Socket let AMD see if possibly the motherboard may or may not have damaged the processor when installed.
