What is the optimal memory speed for Threadripper PRO 7975WX without overclocking the CPU? Threadripper specs state that it works with 5,200 MT/s memory, but considering the fact that 7975WX has four CCDs and basic FCLK is 1.8 GHz, maximum theoretical bandwidth limited by CCD is 230.4 GB/s. If I use 8 memory channels and try to maintain same bandwidth on the memory side, 230.4 GB/s can be achieved by 3,600 MT/s DIMMs (230.4/8/8). So there is no point in using memory with speed more than 3,600 MT/s for the 7975WX. I think I might be wrong, but why?..
