Keeping a FX-9590 CPU cool

Will an AIO CPU liquid 120mm cooler keep the FX-9590 cool enough to run while gaming? With my current fan it heats up to 80c. then freezes. I'm looking into getting a Thermaltake  Th120 CL-W285-PL12SW-A.

MB- AsRock 970A-G/3.1

16MB

PSU-Cooler Master 650w

Graphics- Radeon  RX 570

Thanks

Don

Here is PCPARTPICKER compatible CPU Coolers for your FX9590: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu-cooler/?compatible_with=amd-cpu-fd9590fhhkwof#c=4

Accord to the partial list I posted from above link that CPU Cooler is compatible:

The FX9590 is a very high wattage CPU (TDP  220 Watts) and its Maximum Operating Temperature is very low at 57C. So you will need a very powerful AIO to maintain it below 57C under heavy loads or stress.

@elstaci . In your opinion do you think the Thermaltake 120mm do the job? My case will not handle dual fans.

The FX9590 has almost the same TDP wattage as a ThreadRipper and AMD recommends using a minimum 240 MM Radiator AIO.

I really don't know if that would be strong enough to maintain your CPU below 57C or not. I would contact Thermatake and ask them if the AIO is strong or powerful enough for a 220 Watt TDP Processor.

For a FX8350 that would probably be fine since that processor has a TDP of 125 watts.  The FX9590 is almost double the wattage.
