I can't enable resizable bar for 5800x3D with RX 6800XT

Hello,

I can't enable resizable bar on my B550 AORUS ELITE  V2 (rev. 1.0), even if in BIOS I set "Above 4G Decoding" to "Enabled", "Re-Size BAR Support" to "auto" and "CSM Support" to

"disabled". I get in GPU-Z software that his requirements are not meet.

I see some solutions about windows update, but I have allrdy the last version of BIO for my MB.

What can I do?

If you are using F18b you may want to try going back to F17 to see if that version works.

Gigabyte BIOS versions ending in a letter are beta

To enable Resizable BAR for your Ryzen 5800X3D with RX 6800 XT:

  1. Update BIOS: Ensure your motherboard BIOS is the latest version.
  2. Update GPU Drivers: Install the latest drivers for your RX 6800 XT from AMD’s website.
  3. Enable Resizable BAR in BIOS:
    • Enter BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing Delete or F2 during boot).
    • Find and enable Resizable BAR (often under Advanced or PCIe settings).
  4. Check in AMD Software: Open AMD Radeon Software and verify Resizable BAR is enabled.

If issues persist, consult your motherboard’s manual or support.

This puts things in better perspective, as yours is 'close, but'.

To enable Resizable BAR:

  1. Enter the system’s BIOS/UEFI firmware configuration menu by pressing the DEL key during system start up. This key may vary between each system manufacturer, please check with your system manufacturer for specific instructions as necessary.
  2. Compatibility Support Module (CSM) or Legacy Mode must be disabled and UEFI boot mode must be Enabled.
  3. Ensure the following settings are set to Enabled (or Auto if the Enabled option is not present):
    • Above 4G Decoding
    • Re-Size BAR Support
  4. Use the {some other mfr.'s graphics driver-plus updater utility whose own bug is {This shows Disabled if our graphics card is not installed} to confirm that Resizable BAR is enabled on your system.

The Resizable BAR option may be described as Re-Size BAR, Smart Access Memory, or Clever Access Memory. Contact the system manufacturer for specific details.

Use your system’s latest motherboard firmware supporting Resizable BAR.

If not, consult w/ GPU-Z Dev.

I just go back to F17 and works verry good, after that I tryed again beta version F18 and works too.

Maybe it was a BUG or something.

Thank you for answers!

Just like the Number of PCIe Lanes currently In-Use, Resizable BAR (most likely) is not Enabled in the OS until the device asks the driver for it, or vice versa.

I TOTALLY FREAKED when GPU-Z kept telling me my RX 6950 XT was using "PCIe X1".
