This is a brand new build and I changed the orientation of my radiator. I noticed the preapplied thermal paste was on the cpu already so I cleaned it all off. I just wanted to know before I continue is there any way I should specifically apply thermal paste on amd cpus? I know the general advice is to do the rice grain method, but should I manually spread it or allow the pump to spread it byitself?

Personally out of all the methods I've tried in the past, I have obtained the best results by spreading a thin layer across the entire part of the cold plate which touches the CPU with a credit card.

Thank you. For ryzen is it crucial to have an evenly spread across the cpu?

The IHS is soldered so it is best to have the entire IHS covered to maximize heat transfer to the cold plate.
