CPU Upgrade Issues

Hi,

Seem to be having issues upgrading my CPU. Upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X. Have a B450 MOBO. I've done the BIOS update before hand with old CPU. Then after replacing with new Ryzen 7, when I start up the computer I have no display. I'll swap out the new CPU for the Ryzen 5 and it boots up fine. Tried resetting the CMOS and updating BIOS again and then put back in new Ryzen 7 and still nothing, no display or anything. I'm using thermal paste and following installation guides provided, but cant seem to get the new CPU to boot up. Am I missing something? I appreciate any help anyone can provide.

Thanks,

Which B450 motherboard do you have exactly and what BIOS version did you update it to? Please list your full system specs, gpu, RAM etc.

Personally I wouldn't put a 5800x on a 450 chipset..

I had problems with 3700x on 370 chipset, so I purchased Asus Tuf Gaming x570 mobo..

The problems I had with the 370 was VRM's were not up to powering the 3700x, you could have the same problem with the B450..

If I were you get a B550 or better an x570 mobo..

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Asus Tuf Gaming RX 6700 XT, Asus TUF Gaming x570 Plus, 32gb G.Skill TZ neo 3600mhz, Samsung 980pro 1tb NVME, Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1tb NVME, Lian Li Galahad AIO 240mm, Antec Titanium 1kw.
