Can I use only one CPU (Epyc) in a dual processor motherboard?
I was wondering if it is possible to use only one CPU first and add another one later (Epyc 7401p) when using a dual processor motherboard.

jet, please see here - it says YES. Please open an AMD Online Support Request and ask them if you need assurance. I do not work for AMD and only a few who post here do. Enjoy, John.

Hello,
Yes you can.
Please read your board manual for more informations , because with just one CPU installed
not all PCIE slots are functional and so on.

You might want to post your question at AMD Server Forum: AMD Server Gurus .
They deal with EPYC Processors and someone should be able to validate your question there.
