Black Screen Flickering Issue

Hoping to see if we can find a resolution.
I've seen multiple posts with the black screen mishap ever since the AMD 7000 series was released.
I had no issues starting, however recently with a 7900X3D, I started to get the same flickering only when playing certain games.
To be clear the game is still running when this happens and it comes back after 3-4 seconds but in competitive games, it makes it unplayable, and I NEVER had this issue with an Intel CPU, this only happened after I installed the Ryzen 9.
Don't get me wrong, I love this CPU, and I want it to work so badly. But I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure this out.

My system specs are as follows;
-MSI B650 MPG Edge Wi-Fi
-AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D
-64GB of Team Force 5200MHz (32x2)
-EVGA GeForce GTX 1080Ti SC (R.I.P. EVGA)
-Samsung 970 Evo SSD's
-3 Dell Monitors at 27" capped at 30Hz
-1 Dell S2721HGF 27" Currently at 120Hz thinking that would fix the issue however it's G-Sync and Freesync compatible with 144Hz

What I have tried so far;
-Uninstalled the AMD display driver (you have to install it when you download the drivers for the AM5 platform.
-Unplugged all other monitors and only had the 144Hz monitor running
-Changed the Display Port cable
-Turned off all other software including minor things like wallpaper engine
-Reinstalled and reset the 1080Ti to the factory settings before adding a new driver
-Stress tested both the Graphics and CPU separately and was not able to recreate it without launching a game
-Tried launching both in Vulkan and Direct X versions

Now, the interesting bits for those of you who are smarter than I am, which there are many, I only noticed the black screen where the CPU and GPU have to work together so please take a look at this list below.

Games I DID NOT get a black screen flash and was able to play without issue;
-Rocket League
-CS 2
-Players Unknown Battleground
-Vampire the Masquerade Bloodhunt
-Dead by Daylight
-Rainbow 6 Siege
-Battle Bit Remastered
-UNO
-SnowRunner

Games I DID get a black screen flash every so often were;
-Apex Legends
-Starfield
-Cyberpunk 2077
-Doom Eternal

The black flashes are random and without warning. But it happens mostly in Apex, Cyberpunk, and Starfield. Doom was for some reason causing fewer black flashes. Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue. However, it's getting really frustrating and it seems no one has found a fix yet.

So hopefully my list of games that do and don't cause this issue help sort it out.

How can you list your system specs without listing the make/model of your power supply? .. one of, if not thee, most important part of ones build.. just shows how much it's just glossed over and not even considered in most troubleshooting that is done it seems

Make sure your motherboard's BIOS is up to date

Make sure you have the latest AM5 chipset drivers installed from AMD.com website

You could run DDU .. reboot .. and then install latest AMD GPU drivers from AMD.com website

not capping to 30hz might help ..disabling gsync/freesync might help

Screen flickering is a GPU problem, not CPU

Your list of games that do and do not cause the issue is very helpful. It suggests that the problem may be related to specific games that are demanding on both the CPU and GPU. This could be due to a number of factors, such as the game's engine, the way it uses resources, or the specific settings that you are using.

Here are some possible solutions that you may want to try:

  1. Update your graphics drivers to the latest version.
  2. AMD has been releasing new drivers with bug fixes for the 7000 series CPUs, so it is possible that a newer driver could resolve your issue.
  3. Try using a different graphics card.
  4. If you have another graphics card available, you can try using it to see if the black screen flickering persists.
  5. This would help to determine if the problem is with your CPU or GPU.
  6. Try lowering the graphics settings in the games that are causing the problem.
  7. This could reduce the load on your CPU and GPU, which may help to prevent the black screen flickering.
  8. Try disabling certain features in the games that are causing the problem.
  9. For example, you could try disabling V-Sync or FreeSync.
  10. Try running the games in a different DirectX version.
  11. Some games may be more stable with a different DirectX version.

If you have tried all of these solutions and the black screen flickering persists, then it is possible that the issue is related to a hardware problem. In this case, you may need to contact AMD or your motherboard manufacturer for further assistance.

I would also consider swapping out the Dell 27" monitor, even if it's being run at 120 Hz instead of 144 Hz, with one of the other Dell 27" monitors.  Cap the frequency to 60 Hz and see what happens.  If that stops the blinking, then consider another monitor / graphics combination.

As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".
