AMD Ryzen Chipset Software (Windows update) resets power plan after reboot (Ryzen 9 8945H)

Hello,

I have an issue with the Silent Mode power plan in Armoury Crate on my laptop. In the Windows power plan settings, the minimum processor state while charging is set to 80% in Silent Mode. This is way too high, causing my CPU to constantly run at high frequencies, even when idle or under no load, which it shouldn’t. As a result, the fans frequently turn on and off, making the Silent Mode not very silent.

When I manually change the minimum processor state to 5% (which is the default for most power plans) and keep the maximum at 100%, the CPU runs at much lower frequencies, around 2GHz when idle, keeping temperatures lower and preventing unnecessary fan activity. However, after restarting the laptop, the setting always reverts back to 80%, even though I save everything in Armoury Crate.

I’ve tried modifying the settings through Regedit and other methods, but nothing works permanently. The only thing that actually fixes the issue is uninstalling the AMD Ryzen Chipset Software. As soon as I reinstall it, the power settings are automatically modified again after a reboot.

This behavior is frustrating, as it seems like the chipset driver is overriding user-defined power settings. With my Ryzen 9 8945H, the CPU constantly runs above 4.0GHz in Silent Mode, even with no load, which defeats the purpose of a "silent" profile.

Is there any way to prevent the chipset driver from modifying power settings? Could AMD look into this issue?

Thank you.
