Asus ROG Strix X870E-E + 9950x. I am using Arctic LF 3 420 AIO + 6 P14 Max fans in push-pull configuration, at the moment on the screenshot the fans are working at ~50%, Noctua NT-H2 thermal paste is applied evenly. Per-core curve offsets were applied after diagnostics via HYDRA, HYDRA itself identifies my CCDs as gold/platinum. For the test, a uniform AVX2 load was used in the form of Corona Benchmark 10. The thermal limit is set to 86 C
The temperature difference between the hottest core C03 (and partially another hot core C01) and the cold cores can reach 20 C and this worries me. Without load, the difference reaches 2-3 degrees Celsius.
It turns out that I am not using the potential of my cooling system.
My question is: what could be the reason for such a temperature difference, a defect, an unsuccessful chip sample, an uneven thermal interface under the IHS or something else? Should I use delidding and apply a more even layer of liquid metal or other thermal interface, or all I can do is to play the silicon lottery again and just keep buying CPU samples until I get a lucky one?
