I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm all stock, running a 5950X, with a Noctua D15s; and under load with Cinebench, and AIDA64 Stability test my CPU is fine. Maxing around 60 degrees Celsius.
Yet, on the desktop, my CPU is idling in the mid to high 70's
It's actually running a much high Voltage on the desktop doing nothing, than when actually running any programs.
AMD states no more AMD powerplans in Windows, but the Balance, and Performance ones both do this to my 5950X.
When I set the power plan to Power Saver, it actually uses 0.9v and the temps drop to 37 degrees; which is what I'd expect given the cooler, and my load temps.
What's going on with Windows, jacking up the voltage, and allowing temps to hit 77.
