5800x3d idle clock speeds
I just got a 5800x3d on a Asus ROG b550 f gaming mobo on windows 10.
What is the normal behavior for Ryzen 5000 cpus while idling on the desktop?
My cpu will not go below 3.6ghz.
This is on windows balanced power plan. If I switch to maximum performance power plan the cpu behaves the same as it does in balanced power plan. If i switch to power savor power plan then the cpu will clock down but it will stay under 3 ghz even while gaming. What is going on here?

PIck performance power plan and edit it. Lower the minimum processor state, that should bring the clocks down.
But keep the max at 100% so it ramps up when needed.
Use some tools like Ryzen Master, CoreTemp and HWinfo to check it out.

If you need a power plan that is somewhere between "power saving" and "balanced"
You will need to customize power plan or download and install a 3rd party custom power plan.
