Hello- Thx for the help in advance.
Have a PC that's been running a 3800x for years. Works great. Upgraded to a 5800x and I'm unable to get any video signal.
Setup:
Motherboard: ASUS TUF B450M-PLUS GAMING AM4 AMD B450
Video Card: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 570 DirectX 12 GV-RX570GAMING-4GD REV2.0 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 ATX Video Card
Power Supply: CORSAIR CX Series CX450 450W ATX12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC
Troubleshooting so far: Short version: I've swapped the processor two times. Video works from with the 3800x, but no video with the 5800x. Obviously I'm plugged into the graphics card (not the MOBO).
Thoughts: Could it be a MOBO BIOS problem or power supply problem. Or is the processor defective?
Thanks for the help!

Have you updated your motherboard bios as you will need to run a new bios for that CPU..
You will need bios version 2409..
Bios 3211 is the newest so I would update to that..

Thanks again!
I had a close look and you're indeed correct. Updated the BIOS but it was about a year ago and this might be it. Also noticed there is an AMD driver update. Will give that a go as well.
What think I'll do is put it all back together with the 3800, update all drivers and BIOS and then give it a go. HUGE mistake. I should have done this at the start and was an idiot for not.
Thx! Will report back.
Brilliant, I hope it works..
Welp, I'm the idiot. No idea why I didn't update the BIOS. Updated the BIOS and it all works. Thank you!
The speed of the processor is absolutely amazing. Can immediately feel the difference even from the 3800X. Running 10 2 processor virtual machines on the PC and even each PC is fast. Amazing.
Thanks!
Very nice, hope you enjoy your new CPU..
So good when things go to plan..
