Will a i7 4770 CPU Bottleneck a Rx 6750 xt graphics card?

Hello,

I have an old PC with the CPU in the subject.

I'm aware it's quite old.

I was wondering, if I buy the GPU in the subject will I be able to play decently some modern games (ie. Baldur's gate 3) or the CPU is too slow?

Thank you

went to this Bottleneck website that only requires the CPU and GPU to determine if there will be bottlenecking and found there will be sufficient bottlenecking by your Intel CPU if you install a RX6750XT GPU Card: https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/0uL1bh/1/general-tasks/3840x2160/

The processor might become a bottleneck for the graphics card's performance. While the graphics card is capable of handling intensive graphical workloads, the processor's processing power may not be sufficient to fully utilize the graphics card's potential. This imbalance could restrict the system's overall performance, leading to slower processing and potentially reduced graphics quality. To achieve a more balanced setup, it would be advisable to consider upgrading to a more powerful processor that can keep up with the demands of modern applications and games.

Intel Core i7-4770 is too weak for AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT on 3840 × 2160 pixels screen resolution for General Tasks.

This configuration has 32.5% of processor bottleneck .

During gaming, your graphics card may not reach its maximum performance potential as it won't be fully utilized. This occurs when the processor is unable to process and deliver data to the graphics card at a fast enough rate. Consequently, the utilization of your processor will be at its maximum, while the graphics card's potential may not be fully utilized.

A processor bottleneck is considered worse than a graphics card bottleneck. With a processor bottleneck, the utilization of the processor reaches its maximum capacity, potentially causing other programs running in the background to suffer performance issues. This can lead to reduced responsiveness and efficiency in multitasking scenarios.

Additionally, due to the processor bottleneck, you may not experience the maximal performance capabilities that your graphics card offers. The graphics card's potential will not be fully realized, resulting in potential limitations in rendering graphics, frame rates, and overall gaming experience.

Its very interesting, thank you.

I will play at 1080p and I see that bottleneck should be pretty much the same. I'm not sure if 33% is really as bad as it seems. But it gave me an idea.

Thanks

CTRL-SHIFT-o   will pop up your CPU and GPU Utilization once you install AMD Adrenaline Driver.

Let us know what you see.

Cheers,

At another website that is a little bit more informative, FPS & Bottleneck Calculator , you will need to input your GPU, CPU, & RAM Memory to determine FPS and Bottlenecking.

At another Bottlenecking website I read anything above 10% bottleneck is bad. The higher the percentage above 10% the worse the performance.

By the way, on the previous Bottleneck Calculator I changed the Resolution from 4K to 1080P and the bottlenecking was even worse then at 4K:

This configuration has 49.7% of processor bottleneck .

Yes is the answer. That is still a stellar CPU and it will have less effect if you play at 1440p.

You're right, I tried the website with 1440 and it seems bottleneck is 0.

At this point I'm not sure whether I should buy the card or not.

Thank you for the answers btw.
