screen hangs on FurMark 1080p (7800xt)

I’ve been encountering an issue with my 7800XT where it goes black screen and freezes during the Furmark benchmark at 1920x1080, but it runs fine on the "stress test" at 1920x1061, and other benchmarks like Heaven and Superposition don’t cause any issues. The problem appears to be specific to Furmark at 1080p, although it occasionally works when I hover over the Furmark window (but not in fullscreen). Additionally, my screen randomly turns black for a second at very long intervals (like hours apart). I’ve already reinstalled both Furmark and my drive, but the issue persists. Furmark has always been my go-to tool to test the GPU’s stability, so I’m not sure what’s causing this. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be going wrong?

I would certainly look at the monitor cable(s) you are using.  I only use quality Display Port (2.1 or higher) cables with my LAN computers.  I don't use HDMI, but there are quality HDMI cables available.  If you have another monitor cable on hand, I would give that a try since it costs you nothing but the time to test it.

As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".
