RYZEN 5800X AMD ft RX 6900 XT black screen under 2 min of gaming & stress test

Hi,

First time RED team, I've been facing some weird issues for the last 2,3 weeks and I've been troubleshooting a lot, like a lot but I'm facing a wall now about what to test.

Whole pc is 2 months old, and already RMA a first very buggy RX 6900 XT

The specs first :

CPU : Ryzen 5800X
MB: Gigabyte X570s UD with latest bios (f4d something)
RAM: 2X16 GB XPG Gammix D10 (approved VQL)
Storage: WD Blue SN570 1TB
PSU: Corsair TX850M Gold plus
GPU: RX 6900XT ASRock Phantom Gaming

Symptoms:

Every time I game after 2 to 10 min into the game, depends how GPU-intensive the game is, the pc goes black screen then restart display another black screen and nothing can be done without hitting the reset button. It's the same thing with any stress test I ran, OCCT (with 1,2,3, Shader-complexity) AMD Adrenalin built-in stress test, Furmark , 2 min into a 3D test and the blinking screen appears then crash.

Sometimes I'm facing some weird artifacts after reboot or during the crash (cf: screenshot)

I've tried:

- DDU with a bunch a different drivers version (WHQL, non WHQL, pro-version)
- Memtestx86 successful.
- CPU Occt test no issues after 30
- PSU Test failed because, I think, it tests intensive power-consuming task by stress-testing both CPU & GPU.

The event log flags me a : WHEA-Logger event id 18

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core

Error Source: Machine Check Exception

Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error

Processor APIC ID: 13

But so far debugging this error has been fruitless.

So yeah I'm running out of thing to test, I bought a RX6700 GPU to check if it's indeed GPU related-issue and RMA the faulty RX6900XT but in the mean time I'm running out of things to try/test.

So if anyone has an idea about what could cause my issue, it'd be a huge help.reddit_debug_screen.jpgreddit_debug_screen_2.jpg

Not sure if you tried it but it looks like what happened with a 5600XT I had and it was a GPU Ram issue. I tried OCCT gpu mem test and it detected issues so if you haven't tried that I would do it. My only solution ended up being an RMA with ASUS though.

I did try that vram occt test and 2 min into the test black screen test and reboot, but oddly no error for occt..

Edit 1 : After installing the new RX6700, no more crash during the first min of occt gpu stress test. Will try during some games later, will update.
