Ryzen 5-5600G and Samsung Freesync Odyssey 5 32in curved monitor 2560x1440 144Hz display
I have an ancient racing sim called Grand Prix Legends. It is the template for most of today's sims.
It first came out in 1998, so the computing requirements were pretty minimal by today's standards. The only must-have was the 3dfx Voodoo graphics card
However, it has a large following, and is still regarded as one of the all-time great racing sims.
The software has been progressively upgraded, to the extent that it can now handle 144Hz refresh rate.
The default display for the Samsung Odyssey is 2560X1440 at 144Hz.
When the sim first appeared , its refresh rate was 36fps, but the options for increased FPS have increased first to 60Hz and now 144Hz with certain provisos.
I am now running Win 11 24H2.
I have to run the game with the display set to 1600x1200 as it won't work with 2560x1440.
The game freezes after half a lap of the Nurburgring with the refresh set to 144Hz. The graphics are very detailed eg trees, mountains etc
I suspect the Ryzen 5-5600G Vram of 512Mb.
I am considering a graphics card with VRAM much greater than 512MB.
Has anyone any suggestions/recommendations please?

If your motherboard BIOS allows you can try increasing the amount of system memory allocated to the IGP.
In my Gigabyte board it's under Advanced, Settings, IO Ports, UMA Frame Buffer Size.
If you have 16GB of system memory, increase the UMA to 2GB.

Right this minute, I am pretty ignorant of the ins and outs of boosting the performance of the Ryzen 5-5600G.
However, I am currently experimenting with the options for boosting the GPU. My m/b is an Asus Prime B450M-KII, and I have the AMD Adrenaline package loaded, and also the Armory Crate program. I'm still trying to understand what the Armory Crate package is for.
The first step I have made is to set the GPU to Turbo Mode. Do I need to increase any of the Fan speeds if I do this?
Regarding the Advanced, Settings, IO Ports, UMA Frame Buffer Size, I have yet to find this.

As I said, IF your motherboard BIOS allows.
I was unable to find a BIOS manual for your Prime B450M-KII however looking at the BIOS guide for B550 there is no UMA Buffer Size setting.

Armory Crate is an ASUS utility that allows you to make certain motherboard settings changes. You could also look there to see if UMA Buffer Size can be altered.
