I will try to be as brief as possible

here is my system:

X570 AORUS ELITE (rev. 1.0)

32gb g.skill ripjaws 4x8

over 1000W 

Ryzen 7 5800x

and Graka: RX 7900 XT XFX Merc 310 Black Edition (is new)

My graphics card only runs on PCIE 4.0 x8 and that's it. My system is capable of x16 and I just don't know what the problem is. My old 6700 XT also ran on x16 and the new one just doesn't want to.

I have UEFI set, 4g Enabled, Gen4 config etc.

What is going on, is there a trick?

Is connected via 2x 8 pin but of course via two cables not just one.

BIOS up to date, all drivers as well!

Card is in top pcie slot i suppose.

Did you use DDU or amd cleanup utility to remove 6700 drivers?

Any other pci add-in cards installed, multiple M2 storage devices? (possible pcie bifurcation issue?).

Have you tried reset or clear cmos and load optimized defaults to see if that restores it?

I have already done all that, did not work.

I have only one M.2 installed and that's it, the rest are normal SSD's.
