For context, I've been playing God of War with no issues -- it has run perfectly, no frame rate issues, no rendering issues, just pure fun with great graphics. However, yesterday I repeatedly would green screen and crash on the same scene on Thamur's Corpse (the frost giant whose chisel you want to get to). The trigger is climbing up the hammer. The location on the hammer it crashes is unpredictable from what I can tell, but it is always on the hammer. I imagine something must be rendering when you get onto it that causes some problems for the driver code of RX 6950 XT.
Here is a screenshot of the location, you climb up the board with the diamond shapes and it crashes:
What I've tried since it first occurred, none have worked:
- I updated the driver to 23.7.1
- I disabled Free Sync for God of War's settings (even though it is disabled on my monitor's settings... not sure why this step was recommended by the community)
- I launched the game from Adrenalin with most driver optimizations disabled (made the game look worse and didn't even work so I reverted)
- I tried lowering the graphics to minimum
I wasn't able to find any other fixes, so I'm coming here for some support.
