With my current build, my RX 6800 can run--and even stream--incredibly unoptimized and heavy games like ATLAS or ARK, as well as pretty much any major title you see in all the benchmarking videos. It honestly seemed flawless... until I tried modded minecraft.
My biggest issue is that everybody just jumps to "Oh minecraft only cares about your CPU and RAM" but it ran perfectly fine with my old 1080 from the other guys. I just don't see what the problem is. I'm running latest java, I have plenty of dedicated memory, heck, I'm even running 2 monitors instead of 3 like my previous card. It should have plenty enough power to avoid these issues.
Any ideas how to fix it?
My build:
- MB: Asus Prime X570-Pro
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 32GB (2x16GB) @3600MHz
- PSU: Be Quiet! Straight Power 11 1200watt
Minecraft stuff:
- Max frames I'm getting: ~45fps
- Average according to Radeon Software: 35.4fps
- Modpack: Valhelsia II version 2.3.0
- Minecraft build: 1.15.2
- Dedicated memory: 12,288MB (I've tried lower amounts too to limit garbage collection, no improvements)
