RX 580 VRAM overclock resets undervolt

I don't know if this is supposed to happen, but whenever I overclock the memory on my RX 580, even by 1 MHz, my undervolt stops working completely (it says it's undervolted, but the voltage in games is not). Overclocking the GPU itself does not mess this up, but the memory overclock does. This is a problem for me because, without my undervolt, the temps climb pretty fast.

Have you tried using the overclocking software provided from your video card manufacturer?

On your temp issue have you tried a custom fan curve?  The default one is pretty weak on mine too but if I set the fan to run at 100% at about 70 degrees I never have a temp issue. 

If you have done that and it doesn't help I get why you are undervolting. 

My question though is why not just RMA the card. If you have to do that it isn't operating at defaults properly and that is the very meaning of defective to me.
