I'm trying to connect my 4K monitor to my PC by using a displayport cable, but despite the computer recognizing that the displayport is in use, it doesn't show anything on the screen, no matter what I tried. (Lower resolution, lower refresh rate, fiddle in the adrenalin app, use a single monitor, etc).
The Displayport returns image while booting the PC and in the BIOS, but as soon as it's done, the screen goes black instead of showing the windows screen.
After spending the whole day troubleshooting a dual monitor setup with 1 of them using an HDMI cable and the other one using a 1.4 displayport cable, my last attempt to troubleshoot this annoying issue was downloading DDU and removing every trace of AMD drivers from my PC and rebooting the whole thing.
Yaay, it worked, the displayport port was returning image from windows, but not from the HDMI port (since I uninstalled the driver)...
...then I reinstalled the most recent RX 580 driver (v24.9.1) and during the driver installation, the screen went blank again, so I had to plug-in the HDMI cable in my monitor to be able to see something on the screen, so I figured out that there isn't anything I can do to fix this issue on my end, it's entirely up to you AMD devs.
I'm not sure if these recent AMD drivers broke the compatibility of every AMD GPU with displayport, but everywhere I looked on the internet about this issue, the common denominator was an AMD GPU, so please, fix your drivers to enable displayport compatibility because at the current moment, the RX 580 doesn't support Displayport as the GPU drivers available are broken, even through the same GPU has 3 DP ports.
Thanks.
