I am having random/crash (more the first) when using hwaccel from this CPU. Never noticed before because I did not have the need use hwaccel, since is a Linux server where I have this CPU.
Since this Server also now is being used as NVR, the use of hwaccel is a must. Always using apps that uses FFmpeg with vaapi as decoder and encoding (so, basically FFmpeg).
Decoding and encoding seems to works fine (even when CPU is kind with high usage, but when removing the use of hwaccel is even highest (I suspect the high use even with hwaccel is because has an integrated video?).
I can see GPU being used when enable hwaccel via vaapi because I can monitor it with radeontop command.
Now to the main problem: I've noticed today that disabling hwaccel on a test, reboots/freeze does not happen anymore.
Of course, the "video part" runs with the open source driver (and the Mesa stuff).
Is the only CPU i have for this server and I can afford right now to buy a better one (like newest with integrated Vega). Things are hard in my country (Argentina) and I must figured it out with what I have in my hands.
OS: Ubuntu 20.04
Kernel: 5.11.0-38-generic
FFmpeg: 4.4 (self compiled to enable vaapi; not sure if is enabled by default in Ubuntu 20.04).
Any ideas?
