As the title suggests, I’ve been dealing with random crashes on my new 9070XT graphics card. Previously, I had a 7800XT and never encountered this issue. Now, at seemingly random moments—whether I’m gaming or using a low-demand program—my screen suddenly goes black. After rebooting, I find that my GPU has been disabled in the device manager. Re-enabling it and reinstalling the necessary drivers temporarily restores functionality, but the crashes have become more frequent lately.
I’ve already tried using the DDU uninstaller, updating my BIOS, applying all Windows updates, and even performing a clean reinstall of the operating system, but none of these solutions have resolved the problem. I’ve also been told it could be related to my PSU. The manufacturer, XFX, recommends an 800W PSU, so I’ve ordered a 1000W PSU, hoping this will address the issue. I’ll update the post once I’ve tested it.
In the meantime, if anyone has experienced a similar problem or has any insights, I’d greatly appreciate your input. Am I missing something, or could this be an inherent compatibility issue between Windows and AMD drivers? Thank you.
My system configuration includes:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Motherboard: MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI
- PSU: MAG A850GL PCIE5 (850W)
