I'm really disappointed that I'm having to write this up.
Specifications of computer (no overclocking)

Here is what AMD Radeon settings has:
Radeon Settings Version - 2018.0131.1849.33856
Driver Packaging Version - 17.50.17.03-180131a-323833C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin
2D Driver Version - 8.1.1.1634
Direct3D® Version - 9.14.10.01316
OpenGL® Version - 6.14.10.13506
Notice that in these AMD settings there is no mention of the driver package version 18.2.1 which is what I installed (after using the AMD clean uninstaller utility and rebooting)
Now, AMD update page has:
Currently installed - 17.50.17.03-180131a-323833C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin
New Recommended - 18.2.1
New Optional - 18.3.4
18.2.1 contains driver version 17.50.17.03-180131a-323833C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin but this is not obvious at all on the update tab / page. I feel "Currently Installed" should use the same naming convention as the "New Recommended" and say 18.2.1 is installed. The attached image shows the Radeon settings dialog vs. the driver setup.exe dialog, which shows the current installed version correctly.
The updater should not be telling me there is a "New Recommended" that is the very same package I've already installed and is working, and it should not be notifying me an update is needed when that update is optional. When I go to custom install the 18.2.1 version, it says it's installing yet another version number, AMD Display Driver Version: 23.20.15017.3010.
If I install 18.3.4, then the AMD settings application throws an exception with the following error in the event log indicating the RadeonSettings.exe application is causing an exception inside the ucrtbase.dll library:
Faulting application name: RadeonSettings.exe, version: 10.1.2.1703, time stamp: 0x5ab42cc0

So I've reverted to 18.2.1 aka 23.20.15017.3010 aka 17.50.17.03-180131a-323833C-RadeonSoftwareAdrenalin and dealing with the annoying update notifications. Am I doing something wrong or missing something?
Thanks.
