Power and temperature randomly jumps up on 580X

Hello,

I have tuned my 580 X for ethereum mining.

The settings I have changed are pretty general, I change to Compute mode, and for max state I have

GPU Clock frequency: 1150MHz

GPU Volts: 850

VRAM Timing: 2150

And I have changed the PMW fan curve to be a bit more aggressive.

This runs find and stable and pulls ~90W at about 60C.

Every once in a while, the power just jumps up to like 130-140W. Which I wouldn't have much of a problem with, however, this makes the card run much hotter than I would like, for long periods of time, around 70-74C.

Nothing else appears to have changed. The performance graphs are all flat except for Power and Temperature, which both (of course) show it rising up.
If I simply reload a saved configuration, the power and temperature will again drop back down. However, inevitably, it will go back up. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes it's hours.

What could be going on? Is there any way to stop this?
