If you RX590 is over a year old and you use it for several hours a day most likely the Thermal Paste on the GPU Chip needs to be replace with fresh good quality Thermal paste.

Never replaced the thermal paste on a RX590 so I don't know if you also need to replace any thermal pads besides the the thermal paste.

Anyways there probably are many YouTube videos showing how to renew the thermal paste on the RX590.

NOTE: You can always try and configure to slow the GPU Card down using AMD Wattman to force it to run cooler.

i got this card for maybe 6 months now brand new i wasnt using msi afterburner back then so idk when did the problem start but is there any solution beside replacing the thermal paste?

Your Thermal paste should be good if the card is only 6 months old.

Sorry I  see that AMD Wattman has been replaced with AMD Tuning in the new AMD drivers.

Use this AMD Guide to help you tune your GPU card to run cooler and have better fan profile enabled: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh2-020

see if that above helps you configure your RX590 to run cooler with a better Fan profile.

Have you tried reinstalling your drivers?

Also, silly question perhaps, but, the three fans are pushing air into your case, right? And the one in the back is the exhaust.
Something else I just thought of, is your power supply (PSU) pointed upward? Thus pushing hot air into the case? Or is the fan faced down, and able to push hot air out of the case that way?

Also - what type of case are you using? I'm asking because some cases restrict a ton of airflow. Things like:

- A glass/closed front not allowing air to be pulled from outside into the case. (so, those it have a mesh frame at the front for airflow?) Cases like the Fractal Design Meshify and  the Lian-Li O11 Air have such mesh fronts, which really helps airflow.

- Does it have drive cages and stuff right behind the fans? This can restrict airflow severely.

I've never had to take a GPU apart to replace thermal paste, seems a bit extreme in my book.

Before taking your GPU apart as suggested before, how dusty is your PC? This may seem silly, but it can be a big impact.  I'd give your PC a good dusting if it is covered in dust (e.g. compressed air, or a vacuum on a very low setting, as not to damage anything). Especially if your GPU is caked in it.

Also, what are your CPU temps? Are they this high as well?

Also, a dust that is being accumulated under the fans and blocks an air flows through a cooler could be a reason of overheating.
Though, 84 Celsius degrees is still normal temperature for a high performance level video cards since they usually have quite a high power dissipation.
But, if you notice that temperature becomes higher than it was in past, this means there could be at least 3 reasons of this:
1. A thermal paste is losing its properties, as elstaci explained above.
2. Dust accumulated in the cooler.
3. Environmental air temperature in the room raised (e.g., when it's hot summer weather, or heating devices turned on, etc.).

i have same problem with rx 590 overheating and the softwear keep crashing i think is something wrong with gigabyte one and the only fix that work for me is undercloak power limit at 50+ max and core cloak at 1200 MHz hop that help someone out there .
