Hi all
I am new to the eGPU topic and bought the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 650 and an AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100 as it was recommended by Apple. Now I have a two computer setting and use a Lindy 6x2 HDMI Matrix Switch to be able to easy switch between the Mac and the Windows PC.
Now my actual problem: I want to connect from the Radeon mini DP to the HDMI Matrix Switch to make any additional HDMI adapters on the Mac redundant. In the moment I connect the Radeon to the Switch the MacBook starts to heat up and crashes in 5 - 10 seconds.
When I directly connect the Mac to the Switch nothing happens. When I direct link the Radeon to the displays nothing happens. I already changed the mini DP to HDMI cables and adapters, nothing changed.
Here is the setup:
- MacBook Pro 16" (Model 2019) with 8-Core Intel i) and 32 GB DDR4 RAM; Big Sur 11.3
- Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 650 connected via USB-C to MacBook
- AMD Radeon WX 9100 with 16 GB detected right by the MacBook
- Lindy 6x2 4k HDMI 2.0 Matrix (38148)
I cannot see any driver versions right now for the Sonnet Box, the AMD Radeon nor the Lindy Switch. Does anyone have had or has similar issues? Does I may miss some setup to made?
