I set a game to high performance through radeon settings, yet it still uses my power saving graphics, what should i do?

I tried to play Rainbow Six Siege on my laptop, and of course the first thing i did was check the graphic settings to see if everything was suitable for a smooth enough experience. However when i began to change some settings, i noticed at the bottom left of the screen, it said that my available gpu memory was only 512Mb, which means it was using my power saving graphics card. I exited the game and set it to high performance through amd radeon settings (which apparently is supposed to make programs use the dedicated graphics card). Upon re-launching the game and once again checking the graphic settings, i noticed that it was still using my power saving graphics card. Please help me, I've been trying to fix this problem for so long but i cant seem to find the solution.
