HDR problem with Ryzen AMD R5-5500U with integrated Vega 7

I have an ASUS Barebone VIVO Mini PN51-BB555MDE1N AMD R5-5500U
as player for my 4KHDR projector.
When setting up Win10 using an HDR capable monitor, I noticed that I cannot activate
the HDR mode in the display settings because the button is not offered.
Despite intensive research, I couldn't find any information about whether the integrated
VEGA7 graphics support HDR or not.

If HDR is supported, then I need a hint how I can activate it.

It is interesting that nobody seems to know the answer. In all the documents I could find in the internet there is no information if Vega 7 supports HDR. I would be satisfied if there would be an information that it is not supported, but I could not even find that. There is a note that HDR is supported beginning with a certain release of the discrete grafic cards but nothing on the integrated grafics.

According to this Asus VivoBook Laptop that uses the Ryzen 5 5500U processor it does support HDR: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-VivoBook-15-KM513-Laptop-Review-Ryzen-and-OLED-goodness-that-does...

Also this Asus Zen Laptop also indicates that the 5000 series APU Processor supports HDR: https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/Zenbook/Zenbook-13-OLED-UM325/

Found this old AMD Thread where a User is using a Asus Mini PC PN50 for HDR streaming:

I don't know if the 5500U which is similar to the 4500U APU processor supports HDR10.

What version of HDR are you trying to use on your Mini PC PN51?

also what Resolutions are you trying to run your Projector at?

It seems like all the Asus Laptops that have HDR with the 5000 series APU has a Maximum Resolution of 1920x1080.

How are you connecting your Asus  Mini PC to the monitor?

Are you using DP or HDMI or USB-C port?

Are you using any type of converting Adapter?

Thank you for you post. I answer your questions first:

What version of HDR are you trying to use on your Mini PC PN51?

HDR10

also what Resolutions are you trying to run your Projector at?

3840 x 2160

HDMI (I tried DP with Adapter with the same results)

My problem starts with the Windows 10 screen settings. In order to get HDR to my Acer 4K projector I have to activate HDR in the Windows display settings. But the switch to activate HDR is not there.

Power DVD says when I try to play a 4K HDR file that it could be played in HDR if I activate the HDR option in Windows, which I cannot and this is where the problem starts.

I would open a Asus Support ticket and find out if your laptop support HDR10. If it doesn't that could be a reason why in Windows it is disabled. just guessing though.

You can also open a thread at Microsoft Forums and ask them what will cause Windows to disable HDR from here: Microsoft Forums
