Hello all,

I purchased a new Gigabyte Radeon AORUS RX 580 half a year ago,

It worked perfectly fine until last week, my screens went to black and the fans of the gpu started spinning like crazy.

When i rebooted the PC, the screens showed 'no signal'  and the fans immediately started going up to 100% again.

I reseated the GPU, all the cables etc etc, but nothing worked. so I returned it to the store.

I'm currently using my old GPU, and everything works fine.

Today I received an e-mail that they tested it and that it works properly, that none of the problems have been detected.

I'm really curious about what might have caused this, why does it work at the store but not in my PC?

My system:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Motherboard: ASRock AB350M Pro4
GPU: Gigabyte AORUS Radeon RX 580 8GB
RAM: HyperX Fury black HX424C15FB3/8
PSU: Corsair TX550M V2
Ssd: Crucial MX500 2,5" 250GB

I really hope someone can help me with this.

Possibly your PSU is not working correctly and giving out the proper voltages to the RX 580.

To test your PSU, download OCCT which will stress test your PSU plus your GPU and CPU.

Also try installing a previous AMD Driver in case you installed the latest one which may be causing the problem: https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/rade...

Hello Elstaci, thank you for your reply!

I did install the latest driver not long before this problem showed up, so it's good to know that might be causing a problem.

I will post an update here as soon as I get my Graphics card back.

Yeah I agree too its possibly your PSU because I see from this website that your PSU is 550W

that is not that great because doing a dual monitor setup, i'm assuming since you said "screens" in your description, your gpu at least needs to put out power to the monitor for signal from the cable to the monitor. This website on Amazon

under form factor the power requirement is 500W, so that means you are leaving 50W to your motherboard and cpu and RAM which is not a lot at all, but that doesn't mean the GPU will take in 500W, they might just say the GPU, CPU, and Motherboard all together would take up 500W, but for you, I would grab a 650W PSU or a 700W PSU just in case later in the future you decide to grab a new cpu and trade in the AORUS GPU for a new GPU in like 2025 idk lol.

in this website they recommend a 600W PSU, thankfully I have a 735 and I have extra Wattage for overclocking

this is a good GPU but if I were you, trying to BUY this 400$ GPU, just go for a RTX 2060. This GPU can get up to 94C which is HOT which is why I wouldn't recommend this card when you can buy a RTX 2060 for 300$ and have better performance with better cooling.
