FreeSync not supported

I have a ryzen 3200g and gigabyte m27q monitor that has freesync. I have freesync  enabled on the monitor but in the radeon software it tells me it is not supported. What can I do to fix this?

Have you tried DP?
Try unplugging thd hdmi while the computer is running and plug it back in.

I do not have a dp out.

Unplugging it while it was running did not work.

Have you tried the firmware update from the manufacturer?

Also I am not sure what this means:

You might also check Windows settings to make sure it is recognizing everything and your refresh rate /170/ is correct.

I just updated the firmware, that did not fix it

I believe that is just referring to it having 2 hdmi ports and then 1 display port that is capable of hdr

Also I have the monitor set to 144 hz as it only supports 170 hz over display port, I tried to find if freesync only works over displayport but from what I found only freesync premium and being gsync compatible are supported over displayport but regular freesync is supported over hdmi
