Custom Resolution Projector Glitch

Hi all,

I have a RX6700 XT- trying to create a custom resolution for my golf simulator projector (Optoma GT2000 HDR). I feel like I’ve tried a millio n combinations but no matter what I do, the projector doesn’t appear to be projecting in 1080p (jagged edges around text etc) - getting significantly better resolution on crappy $80 portable monitor running same rig.

I need to create a custom resolution to get the projector width to match my screen.

what I’ve tried:

1.
a. windows display settings: set both screens (projector and my monitor) to 1920x1080p and extend desktop)

b. Creating custom resolution in Adrenalin (1352x1080 to match screen width), GPU scaling on

c. Launching my simulator software, selecting the 1352x1080p resolution

2. same as above but setting my windows display settings to the 1352x1080p as well on my projector

Option 2 always results in the degraded resolution quality on projector, option 1 sometimes projects with the 1352 and degraded quality and sometimes doesn’t take at all (projector width exceeds sides of screen)

Would really appreciate help troubleshooting!

1080p is the native resolution of the projector. Why do you need custom resolution?

Use only 1 display device (the projector) for testing if possible. From the gpu side make custom 1352x1080 use gpu scaling with scaling mode center or select integer scaling. Use either 1080p or the custom resolution as windows res. Also make sure you have Display -> Pixel format set at 4:4:4 (chroma resolution) and no Overscan.

Apply Integer Scaling Effects with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition

Resize an Image to Fit the Screen of an HDMI™ Display

Adjust Pixel Format Settings with AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition

On the projector side make sure not to use any keystone or overscan if you want true 1:1 picture. The picture mode could be required to be set at some preset like PC or Graphic to get no overscan and 4:4:4. Set the projector scaling mode/stretching to something that gives you the 1:1 image like Native or something like that.

You can use an image on this website to test if you are using  4:4:4 chroma resolution:
