I am back running the 22.5.2 drivers stable. I have done extensive testing and have not had a shutdown since the evening of June 2nd (when I made my last changes).
No amount of:
- chipset driver updates
- bios flashing
- video card driver updates
- changing of power supply
- and the absolute worse - a suggestion to reformat a system that has been stable throughout the entire lifecycle - usage of a Sapphire Pulse RX5700XT
....will alleviate the issues faced with an unstable card.
I literally as a last attempt at trying to find a solution unlocked the fans and adjusted them. Now, I did not take them above 73% as about 75% they start to become considerably more audible. I did adjust the curve through P2-P4 and moved max % speed to start at a mower temp on P5. I did leave Zero RPM on and may change this as I get an audible chirp when my fans start.
This is my first AMD card, I have always bought AIB for more than 2 decades.
Nothing but crickets through warranty & troubleshooting from AMD since June 2nd, which is disgusting. The way I see it is I bought a defective card. I have to do something outside the normal to get it to run, which most people would not know to do. It affects the resale value of the card if I disclose it. It is damaged goods.
A card if you are not overclocking and upping the voltage, SHOULD run at stock settings. I have pretty much built PCs for 3 decades and never seen anything like this one.
