AMD radeon 6900xt crashing while gaming

Hi everyone,

I built a new PC with ryzen 7 5800x3d and radeon rx 6900xt and 32 GB of ram.

Everything was fine for the first couple of hours, but suddenly while playing bf2042 the game crashed with the dxgi_error_device_hung error.

I was hoping it was only with this specific game, but it happens when I play CSGO and Elden Ring as well.

I have tried:

* Reinstalling the GPU drivers

* Reinstalling DX 12 and .NET framework 4.5

*Lowering the GPU clock mhz to 2200 and power limit to -10%(this granted me an hour of playing, but then I took a break and tried to play again and the game crashed in the middle)

Event viewer shows:

"Display driver amdwddmg stopped responding and has successfully recovered."

I have a Corsair 750 RM PSW so this is not a PSW issue, nor a RAM/CPU issue - my suspicion is directly towards the GPU, as some reddit comments say that maybe the fact the GPU is already overclocked is doing lots of issues

The only thing I have not tried so far is to removing the drivers using DDU

Does anyone know how to get this fixed?

Hi there

Someone in another thread with similar problems suggested disabling core performance boost in the bios, and it seemed to be the solution.

Hope this helps you.

It is related to the CPU, and the CPU is not the source of the issue here...
