7900XTX has no 240hz option.

I bought a 7900 XTX and a 240hz 1440p monitor at the same time and downloaded the latest drivers. On my display settings there is an option for 60hz / 120hz / 144hz but no 240. I am using the correct cable. 1.4 DisplayPort. At first i thought it must be a bad cable so i tried another. I then thought it must be the monitor so i took it back to the store and they tested it infront of me and showed me it working on their computer which was embarrassing. I have since found 2 posts on linus tech tips and one on the AMD forums about the XTX not working with said monitor. The monitor is a iiyama G-Master GB2790QSU-B1 27". Is this some form of driver bug? anyone have any information that can help me please.

Possible the Monitor's EDID is not being read correctly by AMD Driver.

Try using Custom Resolution Utility and see if you can add 240Hz Custom Resolution. You can download it from here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

Also do you have Freesync enabled?  If it is enabled try disabling to see if it fixes your issue.

What is the Make & Model of your Monitor's cable that you are using?
