Hi, recently I build a PC and had no problem. No idea what have changed or what I installed, but when I launch a game it goes to 4500 RPM.
I am using Gigabyte Control Center and it looks like the curve is set to increase to 100% at 80 C, the GPU has only 40 in the menu but it still goes like crazy..
I uninstalled my old graphics with DDU and then fresh installed AMD Adrenaline with the driver.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Nothing worked, but a fresh windows install. It was for sure a soft related problem because of the multiple applications used for the same purpose.
Somehow uninstalling everything (applications and drivers) did not change anything at all. Even the fan curve was interfering with something, because no matter the temperature, the fans would still increase to the maximum RPM speed.
So, the only fix, for me at least, was to erase everything and make a fresh windows installation.
Still, everyone else was right and was definitely not a hardware issue, but software.
Thank you for your help!
If you have multiple softwares for graphics card control, at some point there will be conflicting settings.
I faced that as GPU Tweak from ASUS superseeds Adrenalin settings, so its unchecked at the startup, only go there as last resort.
Try building a fan curve on adrenalin and uncheck/uninstall Gigabyte Control Center.
Good Luck
If it's too high there might be some issue with your cards cooling and that is why it's ramping up so much. If not and your temperatures are fine and the noise is bothering you, you can also use the AMD Adrenaline software to set a custom fan curve and speeds so that you can reduce the fan speeds it will raise the temperatures a bit but if you have enough cooling capacity to spare it won't hurt to raise temps by 1 or 2 degrees but significantly reducing the noise.
I will try uninstalling the other softwares first to see what changes.
With an AMD GPU, it's better to get rid of third party tools and use AMD Software for everthing, i know i been through almost the same strange issues when trying to do fan control with other softwares.
Is weird as all these started after I installed the Adrenaline Software, but it is 100% because of the the other softwares.
