6900XT - monitor goes black for a second

Hi there,

I have an Asus Strix 6900XT VGA, sometimes both while gaming or in Windows the monitor goes black for a moment and then the image comes back. When it happens in gaming, I can still here the game going on, so it's not a matter of the game.

Latest driver, VGA and motherboard BIOS installed.

Thanks to whoever will help me!

Hello,

If you're experiencing your monitor going black for a moment and then the image coming back while gaming or in Windows with your Asus Strix 6900XT graphics card, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check your connections: Ensure that the cable connecting your graphics card to the monitor is securely plugged in on both ends. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause intermittent signal loss.

Power supply: Verify that your power supply unit (PSU) is providing enough power to support your system, especially considering the power requirements of the 6900XT. If the PSU is insufficient, it could lead to intermittent power fluctuations and cause display issues.

Monitor settings: Review the settings on your monitor to make sure there are no power-saving features or sleep modes enabled that could be triggering the black screen issue. Adjust the settings as necessary.

Temperature and cooling: Check the temperatures of your graphics card while gaming to ensure it's not overheating. Excessive heat can cause instability and black screen issues. Ensure that the fans on the graphics card are functioning properly, and consider improving case airflow if needed.

Clean driver installation: Try performing a clean installation of the graphics card driver. First, use a utility like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove the existing driver completely. Then, download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website and install it afresh. This can help resolve any potential software conflicts or corrupted driver files.  Wyndham Rewards Visa

BIOS updates: While you mentioned that you have already updated your motherboard BIOS, it's worth double-checking if there are any further updates available. Sometimes, BIOS updates can address compatibility issues or improve system stability.

Test on another monitor: If possible, try connecting your graphics card to a different monitor to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the graphics card or the monitor itself.
