I'm having issues displaying text clearly in Windows 10. Pixels have a "rainbow" effect on text when using Full RGB 4:4:4 at native resolution at 144hz. However, when I select YCbCr 4:2:2 at same resolution and refresh rate, the pixels are clear in Windows (see pictures).
RGB Full (4:4:4)
YCbCr 4:2:2
My understanding is that 4:4:4 ensures there is no chroma-sub sampling and should improve text, but its having the opposite effect! Is the AMD driver working correctly?
System
AMD 3700X CPU
AMD 5700 XT GPU
LG 34GN850-B Monitor
DisplayPort 1.4
Latest AMD chipset and GPU driver downloaded
Troubleshooting
Here is what I've tried so far:
Installed latest AMD 5700 XT drivers
Replaced DisplayPort cable with certified 1.4
Changed refresh rate (currently on 144hz at 10 bit color and RGB Full 4:4:4)
Reformatted windows 10
Adjusted clear type and scaling (set to 100% at native resolution)
Tried alternate GPU DisplayPort inputs
Please help AMD!
