I've got a 3200g connected to my screen using a DVI(pc) -> HDMI(screen) cable and i want to use the screen's built in speakers. I can make it work with the HDMI output but it's currently connected to the TV. When using the DVI windows don't register the monitor's speakers as a sound device and so does linux - i'm dual booting this pc.
After some research i found out that not all video cards are able to pass audio throught the DVI output. For example i tested the same cable to with an old pc and the sound passed fine throught the DVI to my screen's speakers.
Does anyone know if this is doable with the VEGA 8 gpu?
Could it be a motherboard issue?
