My client is running a Windows 10 machine with AMD Radeon HD 7500 Series graphics card, using two monitors simultaneously, and the 2nd monitor connected with DVI stopped working for no apparent reason.
This card has one HDMI out, and one DVI out. The 1st monitor is connected with HDMI.
First, we checked the graphics card in Device Manager which reports "This device is working properly."
Second, we disconnected the 1st monitor, then connected the 2nd monitor to HDMI which worked.
We reconnected the 1st monitor to the HDMI port and the 2nd monitor to the DVI port.
Third, we removed and reinstalled the drivers from AMD website. This made no difference.
Fourth, we bought a new DVI cable and connected that to the 2nd monitor which didn't solve the problem.
Can someone help me identify the cause of this problem? Is it the DVI connector on the monitor, the DVI connector on the graphics card, the drivers, or something else?
