20GB amd RX 7900 XT can't handle dark areas on games

I've been using a 20GB amd RX 7900 XT for the last 2 months and I think there is something wrong with it, or the settings. The GPU seems unable to cope with dark areas in games.

For two games in particular - Phasmaphobia and Alien Isolation, the areas in shadow in or in the dark are a strange purple and dark blue.

Turning off anti-aliasing within the game, seems to help a little bit, but the games still look awful, with purple and blue shadows.

Please can someone help me, is the GPU faulty or are there additional settings that need to be changed?

That really sounds like a setting somewhere that its imcompatible with the mentioned games.

Try disabling graphic improvements like Radeon Image Sharpening and others, make sure you are not using some sort of upscalling.

Good Luck

I've done all the possible changes and configs within the video settings of both games, so not much else I can do on that front.

Is the Radeon Image sharpening something within the AMD menu by pressing ALT & R?

Thanks for the response

There is a bunch of options inside Adrenalin software that will surely mess with some games, specially older ones.

I also find if I keep HDR off and turn up the brightness, I get better clarity in Dark areas. What monitor are you using?

Managed to resolve the issue, going in to Adrenalin Software , clicking on the game, then changing the settings:

-Color temp reduced

-Brightness reduced

-Hue reduced

-Contrast reduced

- Saturation reduced

I'm not sure if one of these alone could have fixed it, but the purple and blue shadows have completely gone

Thanks for the advice

That's great to hear that you solved it. Happy Gaming!
