Will the next 5600xt driver fix the BSOD video failure?

When are 5600xt driver going to work or is it suppose to be fixed ?

I just purchased a gygabyte 5600 xt oc because I wanted to uipgrade from my gtx 980 and I have a new monitor that support freesync.

But disapointed in crashing all the time. BSOD - Video failure 116

I installed the latest driver for the card, for the motherboard, the adrenaline software 20.2 and 20.4.

Keept crashing. Removed adrenaline and installed drive alone like some suggested.

Seems to be a little bit better but will crash often. Sometimes every 5 minutes, sometimes can last hours.

It took me 5 try to report the issue to amd because I kept having the BSOD.

Wondering if I return the card and use my gtx or bnuy another nvidia.

I just not sure AMD GPU driver will ever be fixed.

Some people says it's suppose to have been fixed. So is it me doing something wrong or bad card or something else ?

Cpu : amd ryzen 5 3600

Motherboard : Asrock b450 steel legen matx

Ram : 4x8gb g.Skill trident z neo 3200mhz

Cpu cooler : stock wraith amd

Psu : evga p2 750W

I currently don't have the adrenaline software so not sure how I could

enable or disable freesync. I think it's probably disabled if software not

used and by looking at my fps. But could be wrong.

Before uninstalling adrenaline, I did try enable and disable freesync and

gpu acceleration in chrome.

It's seems a lot of the bug is in chrome but that's probably one of the

thing I use the most. Look news, youtube or in app browser plugin i suppose

like steam (or explorer)

I am amazing a similar issue.

My specs:

Gigabyte rx 5700 xt

Desktop

Windows 10 64bit

I've tried both 20.2.2 and 20.4.2 both with and without adrenaline.

For a display I'm using a Samsung 4k smart TV, using a 4k HDMI cord, sometimes use Bluetooth headset to the through the TV.

Gigabyte b450 Aorus M

Bios American megatrends f41, 2019-07-22

Ryzen 7 3700x

Corsair RM550x 80+ gold

Corsair vengeance 16gb

So the crash I'm getting is a green screen crash. Usually while playing a more graphics intense game. (X4 foundations, mount and blade bannerlord) but sometimes it does it randomly on the desktop as well.

The crash the screen goes green, i get a slight buzz over the sound. This lasts for 1-2 seconds then the screen goes black and my keyboard shuts off. I've tried to hit Win-Ctrl-Shift-B to restart the gpu before the keyboard turns off, has no effect. At that point I have to turn the computer off and restart it.

Same issues here, been wondering for a month when AMD is going to fix their drivers. My computer is unusable with amd drivers installed, even if I don't install Adrenaline.

from what I've heard and experienced the 5600 xt and 5700 xt are in a different boat. I've done 3 fresh installs of windows, updated and reverted bios, removed and reinstalled chipset drivers, and tried every available version of the video card drivers with and without adrenaline. I cant even make it through the driver installation without it crashing. I even tried switching out my freesync 4k monitor with a standard 1080p monitor with no freesync. I also tried with HDMI vs DIsplay port, safe mode, and literally anything I can think of. Default bios settings, UEFI, etc. nothing seems to work and ive tried multiple variations everyday for two weeks.

I have noted that Gigabyte cards are often at issue. I cannot help wonder what they did wrong as Sapphire cards seem to be far less problematic.

Use MSI Afterburner and try increasing the power going into the card.

I recently updated (flash) bios of the card. It wasn't available from the

software, needed to go throw the website.

Since then it's just completely stable, no crash in a few days/weeks. No

crash in YouTube as it was crashing nearly every time. Was that the only

issue or something else? Can't say but happy things are working now.

Are you using a Gigabyte card?

Yes the gigabyte card. Of 3 fans. Can't remember the complete model as I am

not on it.

But not totally stable and happy with it.

My card is an MSI Mech OC 5600 XT, and I would try to use afterburner but since I cannot even install AMD drivers without crashes, afterburner wouldn't even recognize my card (5600 XT) and would instead just recognize the Microsoft basic display adapter. I have been unable to boot my computer with ANY AMD graphics drivers installed for over two weeks.

Install the driver. Or install them without the adrenaline suite.

Don't know for msi but You should be able to flash your bios without driver

or anything like that I think. I had to download the amd software to flash

the bios on the card. It's not a manufacturing software for bios update and

it's not link to adrenaline either.
