Where is the latest chipset drivers v 6.06.11.2153 ?

Why does AMD seems to have multiple chipset driver release streams? One for their own website, and then another for partners (ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc...) which seem to get newer drivers from time to time?

My driver scanner (SDO Origin), picked up that I should update the AMD PSP driver etc, which are part of the AMD chipset drivers. But the latest version published on the AMD website is still v6.05.28.016 which I already have installed.

So I do a google and find ASUS has v6.06.11.2153. This isn't the first time that AMD seems slow releasing a chipset update before partners. Can we please get this version added to the downloads page? As I trust the AMD installer more than the partner specific ones.

*** Found same newer version on Gigabyte website too, will post links if people want them but in subsequent posts, otherswise my post gets moderated.

Looks like it's still happening. AMD has x570 chipset driver 6.10.17.152 (2024-10-21). MSI has 6.10.22.027 (2024-11-05).

What up AMD? Why can't you just put the latest release on your website?

The motherboard maker can & do modify the AMD standard to suit certain parameters on their various board models, they have to change the driver version.

As to the date difference, maybe you could ask MSI support as to why.

Ryzen 5 5600x, B550 aorus pro ac, Hyper 212 black, 2 x 16gb F4-3600c16dgtzn kit, NM790 2TB, Nitro+RX6900XT, RM850, Win.10 Pro., LC27G55T..

If that was the case, wouldn’t each manufacturer (or even board from the manufacturer) have its own version number? Yet MSI, Gigabyte, ASUS, etc all have the same version (6.10.22.027). Suggesting that vendor modification is unlikely to be the reason.

Let us know what the response from MSI is when you get it.

Or you might get a quicker response from their support forum?

First thing is I wouldn't use a 3rd party driver updating app. Many times they install incompatible drivers causing all types of PC issues.

Best way to update drivers is to go directly to the Manufacturer of the hardware or use the Manufacturer's own Driver updating app.

I would compare the latest AMD CHIPSET driver package from AMD with any of the other OEM AMD CHIPSET DRiVER packages.

Download both the AMD CHIPSET Drivers and ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI etc CHIPSET Drivers.

Use 7-Zip to unpack the .exe file. Open the AMD and OEM AMD folders and go to INFO.XML file and click on it. See what is different between the AMD and OEM AMD Chipset drivers.
