Hi,
I have windows 11 pro x64 on stable channel and I received one optional update, for my gpu driver: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Display - 32.0.11027.1003 should I install it?
Current version of driver is 31.0.012027.9001
Solved! Go to Solution.
1. Go to Windows Update, make sure "Get the latest" is disabled.
2. Right click the Start Button, then click Device Manager.
3. Scroll until you see the Display Adapters section.
4. Open it, then right click and click to uninstall your display adapter. Check "Attempt to remove drivers for this device" if it pops up.
5. (Your screen will likely be at only 30fps for now, as it will be connected to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.) Go back to Windows Update and check for updates. Windows will automatically reinstall your stable driver version afterwards. If it doesn't, click install or retry and restart your PC in between attempts and after installing your driver.
Good luck! Also, a word of advice, never go for optional updates unless you actually have an issue with your current drivers. Another word of advice, if updated drivers don't work, and you bought a pre-built PC, try installing OEM (original equipment manufacturer) provided drivers, which are customized to work with your PC. Windows will usually handle this task, but sometimes it can install the wrong version.
Yes definitely, Windows Optional AMD Gpu Driver 32.0.11027.1003 ( Driver date : 27/8/2024 ) is a recent driver optimize for recent games
After your reply I installed, it's ok, but the only difference which I saw, I have some lag on screen(I see my cursor acting slowly) while I browse using Microsoft Edge. I use only stable builds, eg. Windows, browser, etc..
U can revert to the old driver back by going into ( Device Manager ) and uninstall the gpu optional latest driver, restart the pc and then let windows automatic install the old driver (31.0.012027.9001) back
Do u know why is disabled 'roll back driver' option ?

Hi again,
Sorry but I will delete your reply as solution according to this topic https://community.amd.com/t5/pc-drivers-software/w11-pro-visual-bug/td-p/734500
I will mark @parkerrazz reply as solution.
No problem! Recently I stop using windows default GPU driver both (31.0.012027.9001) and (32.0.11027.1003) cause it prevent me from playing Indiana Jones ( wont load no matter what )
And started to install GPU driver from AMD 24.12.1 ( Install it as Driver Only ) since i dont use Adrenalin software, and after updating to the latest drivers from AMD i'm able to play Indiana Jones!
Am using Ryzen 5600 / RX6600 / 16GB Ram
What do you think about the Adrenaline software? I never used it..is your PC acting better?
I used to use Adrenalin Software, but always ran into issues with it installed. Driver-only is the better way to go, but I personally just opt for the automatic Windows update drivers for compatibility reasons. Updating my graphics drivers from AMD is a last resort for me, because there's usually gonna be bugs in the latest updates, especially given AMD's track record. They're getting a bit better at fixing bugs and adding game compatibility though.
I think Adrenaline software is just extra features for you to Streaming/Recording Games etc*
And i dont use the Adrenaline software ( Only the driver ) since i dont use those features at all
Installing Only the driver and i can still use Freesync and Smart access memory.
Now does it makes my PC acting better? In general uses like browsing webs its the same.
But installing latest Driver from AMD fix some problems in games compared to windows default driver.
1. I have no way to play Indiana Jones The great circle without installing latest driver from AMD
2. In Tekken 8, with driver from AMD the character selecting loads up faster when u select characters
In my observation installing driver only from AMD doesn't slow down or speed up my PC, but it does Fix and Speed up some games performances and the ability to play latest games like Indiana Jones.
I used to prefer using automatic Windows update drivers to update/install the driver, But in my case i wanna play Indiana i have no other choices but to use the driver from AMD, and i find out its actually not bad!
