Upgrade to windows 11

I have a Radeon A10-8700 HP Pavillion Notebook. To date it's not upgradable to Windows 11. Everything except for the processor on the PC Health Check app for HP says it's suitable for upgrading.

Is this unit going to become upgradable at some point or is it just going to stay as Windows 10?

It is going to stay on Windows 10 until it becomes unsupported by Microsoft in 2025.

You can probably install Windows 11 but Microsoft said it won't support Windows 11 on any unsupported computers.

Also you will need to see if there are any Windows 11 drivers for your laptop or that all the Windows 10 drivers work in Windows 11.

Thanks for the response.

I've checked everything on the laptop, and everything is updated and compatible with windows 11, except for the processor.

So, at this time, there is no update for the laptop I assume.

No, Your laptop Mobile processor is just too old to support Windows 11.

Also it isn't worth upgrading since you need to have a minimum Ryzen Zen+ Mobile laptop processor to support Windows 11 thus a new laptop.

But you still have 3 years left before Windows 10 is not supported by Microsoft anymore. But since Windows 10 is in the same situation as Windows 7 was before it became unsupported, Microsoft extended Windows 7 past the original date to stop support because it still had a large market share by Users.

Most likely Microsoft will do the same thing if Windows 10 still has a large percentage of the market in 2025. By that time you probably will need to purchase a new laptop anyways.
