Issue: Error 43 after manually installing drivers and reboot (no automatic installation worked)
Hardware: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and AMD FX-8320, Sapphire RX 480, Sapphire HD7900, 32GB RAM, single display (HDMI currently)https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/M5A99FX_PRO_R20/
Software: Windows Server 2019, HD7900 and RX480 driver version 27.20.2001.9003
I am rebuilding my system on Windows Server 2019 after running on Linux using KVM with PCI-E passthrough with 2 Windows VMs each using one dedicated video card. I am trying to get both video cards recognized and running under Windows Server 2019. I only have one plugged in (the RX 480); I plan to use the other one as a dedicated encoder/decoder for video streaming software. I am unable to use the new installer for the drivers because of the legacy card. I attempted to install the legacy drivers (16.something), but that did not install any video drivers. I did a manual install of the drivers (select item in Device Manager, Update Driver, search for on my computer and pointed to the folder where all of the installers had been extracted to) and the above driver version was installed. However, after a reboot, I get the Error 43 and dxdiag reports the MS Basic Display Adapter is being used. Am I missing something simple? I may have done some BIOS flashing when I was using KVM with the PCI-E passthrough, but I honestly do not remember.
