I built a PC:
-dedicated GPU is AMD Radeon™ RX 6900 XT OC Formula 16GB.
-CPU is Intel i7 13700K, which does have integrated graphics (Intel® UHD Graphics 770).
-Motherboard is MSI Pro Z790-P Wifi DDR4, I don't know if that matters.
-OS is Windows 10 Home 22H2 19045.2364
other info on request.
I did my setup for Win10 and the mobo drivers while using a monitor plugged into the mobo HDMI, which I'd expect to be using the integrated graphics. I thought this was done and wanted to test the GPU, so I tried switching the monitor to the GPU HDMI. But no picture came up on the screen.
I figured, I hadn't installed any AMD drivers yet, so maybe that's why?
So I visited here on AMD.com support and downloaded the Adrenalin 22.11.2 release, and tried to install.
But the installer says:
"Oops! Something went wrong.
Error 173 - AMD Software install cannot proceed as no AMD graphics hardware has been detected in your system."
With a "Get More Details" button leading to this support page for the error.
The page indicates that I should look for the graphics card having an error in the Device Manager.
But then I looked in Device Manager. I'm supposed to look under "Display adapters".
The AMD GPU is not there. The only one there is "Intel(R) UHD Graphics", which is obviously the integrated one.
I updated my MSI mobo to the latest BIOS version, but nothing changed. (I can't even find a place in the MSI BIOS to see what's in the PCIe slots...)
What's going on here? What can I do to get this GPU to be detected so I can install the drivers and run it?
