Hello. I recently purchased a reference AMD RX 6800. The card performs well, however, it has a serious detracting issue. The card suffers severe driver instability like that seen on the 5000 series cards, an issue I dealt with myself for some time.
There doesn't seem to be a real rhyme or reason behind why or when the drivers crash, but I have found it to be the most common when additional hardware accelerated content is running, other than the main and focused process. However there is no one pinpoint cause or reason.
My system specs are as follows:
- Ryzen 5 5600x - No OC
- AMD RX 6800 - No OC, Enhaned Sync Off
- ASUS X470 Gaming F - Most Recent BIOS (v.5609)
- G.Skill RAM - 64GB 3200 Mhz
- NZXT E Series 650W
- Monitors are connected via 2 Display Port Cables, Ivanky
The list of fixes that I've tried are as follows
- Memtest 86 Passed - All 4 Sticks
- Plugged directly into wall
- 2x 8-Pin Power Cable ran to GPU, no double up on one PCIE power line to GPU
- Chkdsk passed
- Removed RAM O.C
At this point, I'm very frustrated and out of options. Driver updates don't seem to change anything, not the most recent iterations at least. I am open to any further suggestions
