Ran AMD Cleanup Utility

I ran the AMD Cleanup Utility and it appears to have fixed the issue with my video card. However the problem now is it uninstalled something sound driver related? My USB speakers no longer work. Can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do. Did all the easy things rebooted, plugged and unplugged the speakers. Installed my video drivers again.

Any help would be appreciated !

Hi @KendroMagoo

Ok, maybe then try to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard again, since you mentioned the USB port is not picking up the sound-device.

Kind regards

Have you checked Windows sound settings, and also maybe in device manager that it is enabled/has driver if needed ?

@KendroMagoo

This sometimes happens to me as well with Radeon installs, what helps for is:

Go to Device Manager -> Sound devices (if I remember correctly) and there might be one with a yellow exclamation mark, right-click and uninstall, then also in device manager click on scan for hardware changes in the toolbar, it should automatically reconfigure the problematic device then.

Kind regards

Thanks for the suggestion, I'd tried parts of that. However hadn't tried the scan for hardware changes, gave that a go but alas. Still not recognizing my USB speakers.

Hi @KendroMagoo

I am a bit confused with what you are referring to what you have tried already.

But you must install all your chipset drivers again, not just certain ones. In addition, you can also try to install your onboard sound drivers which will likely be Realtek or Creative Labs, depending on your motherboard.

Have you tried testing your headphones in another device such as a laptop in the mean time? You can also try installing your headphone driver again.

Kind regards
